Twitter Dismisses Talk Of Google Acquisition

Last week the rumors were flying that Google was about to buy micro-blogging site Twitter for a reported $250 million or more.
But Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has insisted that the rumors were just that – hot air. In a blog posting he insisted that “sometimes we talk” to Google, but stressed:
"It should come as no surprise that Twitter engages in discussions with other companies regularly and on a variety of subjects."
"Our goal is to build a profitable, independent company and we’re just getting started."
